In an earlier blog post (Evaluating Microcredentials: A Framework for Quality and Dependability), I provided a checklist version of the microcredential framework tool I designed. I have now created two additional templates for my framework, both in rubric form.
The first rubric evaluates a single microcredential or digital badge offering. Users may want to use the online version, which auto-calculates the total. However, a downloadable and printable version is shown below.
Additionally, given the scope of my current project in exploring digital competencies, I have created a rubric that allows for comparisons among microcredentials in one table. (online version)
During the last few weeks, I have continued my work on exploring digital badges, and I have completed more microcredential courses than I have shared on this blog. My cohort members have shared many resources with each other, and I have found that I could spend all of my time pursuing competency-based learning if I time allowed it. The world of microcredentials is vast and exciting.
In my next post, I will share my insights about evaluating these courses based on my framework.
